‘The Peak of the Curve’ is a multimedia operatic installation that documents a dystopian speculative future, depicting human survival against an immensely profitable pharmaceutical industry and deteriorating healthcare. A future mutated by relentless opioid indoctrination, severe chronic pain and a life destroying dependancy for an over prescribed legal narcotic plague. A government favouring profit over patient safety, that continues to restructure public healthcare services, into a private, highly priced industry.

The installation features storytelling realised in multiple mediums that includes print, moving image, recorded performances, animation, prosthetics, sound, song, sculpture and a life-size audio animatronic performing live. 

Visual components within the installation are sourced from medical imaging software, photogrammetry, opioid analgesic literature, the PIP disability benefit application form and practical effects.
